Car.) secession is more controversial in other places. In particular, delegates to conventions tend to divide into three factions: the secessionists immediately cooperationists and unconditional Unionists. The cooperationists were stronger in Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana, and advocated collective action among States south, perhaps in the model of the 1850 Convention in Nashville, instead of each individually separated. In Texas, beat February 1, 1861 and has never been broken.
